Cycle along the track to the left of the road and look for (a) gap(s) in the trees. When you come to the clearing the other side, bear right and follow the track. Cycle along the road from where you parked, looking for a stile and a 'public footpath' sign. (There is a bank you can ride over just beyond this). This is a nice piece of singletrack, marked out with logs etc... which leads you to the top of Route 1 A great run down through the trees with some steeper sections and lots of tight turns - well worth a go! A great route with some raised sections and steps. Qhite steep at the end. If you turn right along the fire road at the bottom of the Rat Run you'll eventually come round to the bottom of Route 1, and then the hill which takes you up to the top of Route 2 As you come up the hill from the bottom of Route 2, go through the gate and then out onto the slip road. Go up the slip road (the wrong way) on the RH side until you reach the bridge. Then step over the crash barrier and look for a steep path heading down the bank to your right. As you get to this section which goes over the road, clumb over the crash barrier and look for a path leading down the bank to your right. Just a short section that takes youto the start of Route 2. Can either be accessed by coming along the road from where you parked or by coming up the hill from the bottom of the slip road. Mostly Northshore with some great raised sections, a double hump-backed obstacle (watch out for the second hump, the 'up' is steeper than you think!) and steep and technical for the second half. This fire road eventually becomes a (very steep, but short) tarmac road back to where you parked If you turn right out of the bottom of the Rat Run and then take the first right turn off the fire road (uphill), this should then lead you all the way back up to the main road by the quarry and to the start of the lead-in for Route 1.
