The Routes

To make it easier for you, whether you are planning your first visit to the area and don't know where to go, or have been to Woodbury, Haldon or Dartmoor a few times already and are looking to string a couple of hours of riding together, I have grabbed some maps from the Ordnance Survey's GetaMap service and highlighted some of our favourite routes to follow.

In most cases, the longer routes are just the shorter routes patched together, but in an order which avoids hills etc...

Woodbury Common

The common is located just outside the village of Woodbury and is owned by Clinton Devon Estates who are happy for bikers to use its paths. To find out more about the landowners, and the common itself visit the Clinton Devon Estates website.

The routes on Woodbury have been broken down into 3 categories for you:

  • Short Loops
  • Medium Sessions
  • Long Routes
  • Haldon Hill

Haldon Hill is located just 10 minutes down the M5 (and A38) to the west of Exeter, near Exeter racecourse.

The routes themselves have been broken down into two areas, and there is now also information available about the new trail developments at Haldon.

  • Haldon Hill Routes
  • Dartmoor

Dartmoor covers a large area of Devon, and the routes on this site are best accessed via Bovey Tracey which is around 30 minutes outside Exeter down the A38.

  • Mutter's Moor - Routes Coming Soon!

Soon to be posted: Individual routes on Mutter's Moor, plus a c.12 mile loop starting at Woodbury Castle and running out to Mutter's Moor and back via Yettington area.
