This ride takes you from Four Firs car park, along the road
towards the quarry, then up to the top of Blackhill, down
a really good run of single track through the woods, then
back to the car park along past the quarry.
NB - There are a couple of steep hills on the way back, (both
down and up) and the ground under wheel is very loose stones,
so can be quite treacherous.

Route Details
1. Head out of Four Firs car park towards
the junction. Turn left along the road towards the quarry.
2. Where the road curves sharply around
to the right, dive left off (either up the path, or into the
main quarry entrance). From here head up the hill until you
get to the house on your right at the top.
3. When you get to the house, turn left
along the footpath which starts off level and then heads downhill
into a clearing in the woods.
4. When you get to the clearing, take the
first path out to your left. This goes along beside
the quarry and has 'Danger: Cliff' signs along it.
Follow this path until you come out into the open and the
path splits.
5. Take the left-hand fork and follow the
path down some narrow single track. Follow this down through
the narrow strip of woodland. The path gets wider after a
while, then narrows again. Just pick your route but try to
stay to the left otherwise you will hit the road on your right.
6. When you come out of the end of the woods
(with the quarry dropping away to your left) turn left along
the path. (If you go straight on and down the hill here you
will be at the start of the Yellow Route).
Follow this track along until the path directs
you round to the right and down the hill. Go all the way down
to the bottom, up out of the dip and turn left at the junction
(out onto a main track/fire road).
7. Whether you go straight on here or turn
left (up the hill) you will have a couple of steep uphills
to get over before you end up back at Four Firs.
As mentioned above, if you carry straight
on down the hill at waypoint 6 you will pick up the
Yellow Route.
Four Firs car park is also the starting
point for the Orange Route (For
more experienced riders only).
